On the morning of September 9, the Silk Road Maritime Safety Forum, themed “Securing shipping, Thriving Silk Road,” was held in Xiamen. As a sub-forum of the 7th Silk Road Maritime International Cooperation Forum, the event brought together industry experts and enterprise representatives from Meteorology, Ports, Shipping, Insurance, and other sectors. They discussed how meteorological services can enhance safety for “the Silk Road Maritime” initiative and support integrated, high-quality development in ports, shipping, and trade.
As a key participant in the Silk Road Maritime network, Chinaland Shipping was invited to the forum. Captain Zhao Qingwei, General Manager of the Safety Supervision Department, delivered a speech titled “Loss preventions for Voyages During the Indian Ocean Summer Monsoon: Integrated Decision-Making Based on Weather Routing for Stowage and securing.” He provided in-depth insights on vessel and cargo resilience against wind and waves, characteristics of the Indian Ocean monsoon, key loss prevention measures during the summer monsoon, and optimized weather routing.
Chinaland Shipping consistently prioritizes safety throughout its operations and management. By continuously improving its QHSE system, the company has established a robust maritime risk prevention mechanism. Moving forward, we will further strengthen safety management and enhance collaboration with professional institutions such as CMRC Global Weather Routing to contribute to the safety, smooth operation, and sustainable prosperity of the “Silk Road Maritime initiative”.
