August 26, 2025, Taizhou, Jiangsu,China — The atmosphere was festive with colorful flags and lion dancing at the dock of Jiangsu Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., as Chinaland Shipping welcomed the naming and delivery of the first vessel in its new series of six 62,000 DWT multipurpose heavy-lift ships — the CL FREEDOM. As the world’s largest multipurpose heavy-lift vessel by deadweight tonnage, the addition of this vessel marks a key step in the optimization of Chinaland Shipping’s fleet structure and its official entry into the heavy-lift transport market. The company remains committed to a market-oriented and customer-focused approach while continuously upgrading its fleet and service capabilities.
MV. CL FREEDOM combines heavy-load capacity, high adaptability, and green intelligent technologies. With a length of 199.9 meters, a width of 32.26 meters, a molded depth of 19.3 meters, and a full-load draft of 13.5 meters, the vessel is designed to meet the demands of project cargo transport. It is equipped with three 150-ton heavy-lift cranes and one 80-ton crane along one side, offering a combined lifting capacity of 300 tons for flexible and efficient handling of over size and heavy weight cargo. Its open-hatch & box-type cargo holds and over 5,000 square meters of unobstructed deck space can accommodate lengthy wind turbine blades and other large engineering equipment.

CL FREEDOM will set sail from Lianyungang on its maiden voyage, carrying eight sets of wind power equipment overseas. Captain Cui Mingzhe, who will command the first voyage, expressed great pride and a deep sense of responsibility: “It is my great honor to take the CL FREEDOM on her first journey.
